Petitions for naturalizations, 1887-1960.

Naturalization petitions record each petitioner's name, residence, occupation, homeland, arrival in the United States, and the date of the petition. Also included are the declaration of intention information, the oath of allegiance of the petitioner, affidavits of witnesses, oaths of sponsors, and the court order granting citizenship. Volumes 1A contains petitions under the District Court, 1887-1895. Volume 1 begins petitions under the Act of 1906. Petitions for 1906-1911 were under the jurisdiction of the Circuit Court, thereafter under the District Court.
